Create print-ready GB CLP labels in minutes

CLPeasy — CLP labels made easy. Create, download and print labels for candles, wax melts, reed diffusers and room sprays.
Built by a maker, for makers

I'm Michaela, a candle and wax melt maker with a background in IT, including Formula 1 and enterprise software. After struggling to find a straightforward and affordable way to create my own GB CLP labels, I built CLPeasy to help me—and other makers—make label creation faster, clearer and less stressful.

Selling fragrance products? Check your finished product under GB CLP

⚖️
What is a CLP label?
Before selling a fragrance product in Great Britain, assess the finished formulation using the current supplier SDS and applicable CLP information. If the product is classified as hazardous or supplemental labelling requirements apply, it must carry the required GB CLP label.
🏷️
What does it include?
Depending on the product classification, the label may need hazard pictograms, a signal word, full H and P statements, allergen declarations and responsible-person details. CLPeasy formats the information entered or extracted from your supplier's SDS for your review.
🚨
What happens if you don't have one?
Where CLP labelling is legally required, missing or incorrect hazard information may lead to enforcement action, including product withdrawal. Makers must verify their finished labels against the current supplier SDS and applicable official guidance before sale.
CLPeasy is currently available for makers selling in England, Scotland and Wales.

Stop fighting labels — focus on making

Every hour you spend fighting CLP labels, wasted sticker sheets and compliance guesswork is an hour you're not doing what you love — creating wonderful products your customers love.

🖨️
Wasted sticker sheets
Test prints that don't align. Labels that clip. Cricut cuts that miss. Sheet after sheet wasted just getting it to look right.
Cost: £50–£200/yr in wasted materials

Paying a designer
£20–£100 for a label set that's outdated the moment you change your fragrance load, jar size or add a new scent.
Cost: £100–£500/yr and counting

Michaela creating and printing CLPeasy labels in her candle-making workspace

Created by a maker, for makers

I started making candles and wax melts as a hobby and quickly fell in love with it. But when it came to selling my products, the CLP labelling requirements felt overwhelming — reading SDS sheets, decoding H statements, figuring out what pictograms were needed.

I couldn't find a simple, affordable tool that worked the way I needed it to — one that wasn't tied to a single supplier, worked on my phone, and guided me through the process step by step.

I also wanted makers to have more control over the practical side of labelling. With CLPeasy you can create and download your own labels immediately instead of waiting for printed labels to arrive in the post, and you can prepare sheets for the different fragrance names you actually need. If you don't have a cutting machine, that's okay too — the Print Sheet Composer includes an optional cut border that you can switch on or off, which is particularly handy when you're cutting small batches yourself.

So I built CLPeasy®. With 25+ years of IT experience behind me — including roles supporting a Formula 1 team and inside a global enterprise software company — I personally set up, designed, and developed every part of this platform: the website, the label builder, and all the back-end database and email integrations. That means I have full IT control of CLPeasy. No call centres. No lengthy wait times. No having to explain your problem again every time you contact us.

I've also built a service monitoring tool that alerts me the moment anything goes wrong — so if a system goes down, I know about it immediately and can restore it to full working order as efficiently as possible. That's my personal commitment to every CLPeasy customer, whether you're on a free trial or a full subscription.

Before launch, I proactively contacted the HSE CLP Helpdesk to ensure CLPeasy operates responsibly within GB CLP Regulation — because getting this right matters to me as much as it does to you. You can read our full regulatory position on the Compliance & Transparency page.

I hope CLPeasy makes your journey as a maker just a little bit easier.

Massively inspired by Joy Mangano — American inventor, entrepreneur, and proof that the best ideas come from solving your own problems.

Common questions

What is a CLP label and do I legally need one?
If you sell a candle, wax melt or another fragrance product in Great Britain, CLP labelling requirements may apply depending on the product's classification. The finished label may need hazard pictograms, a signal word, hazard and precautionary statements, sensitiser information and responsible-person details. Always verify the finished label against the current supplier SDS and applicable official GB CLP guidance before sale.
Will my labels be legally compliant?
CLPeasy generates labels based on the SDS data you enter from your fragrance supplier. You must always verify the information against your own SDS sheet at your actual fragrance load before printing and selling. CLPeasy provides the tool — you are responsible for verifying the final label content is accurate for your specific product.
What is an SDS sheet and where do I find mine?
An SDS (Safety Data Sheet) is a document provided by your fragrance supplier that contains all the hazard information for their fragrance oil. You should find it on your supplier's website — usually in a dedicated SDS or safety section. Section 2.2 (Label elements) is the part Smart Paste reads. Copy the complete Section 2.2—from its heading through the final hazard, precautionary and supplemental information—and paste it into Smart Paste. Do not paste the entire SDS, as codes and terminology from later sections may not belong on the product label. If you cannot find the correct SDS, ask your supplier for the current document applicable to your product, concentration and target market.
How does Smart Paste work?
Open your current supplier SDS PDF and copy the complete Section 2.2 (Label elements), from its heading through the final hazard, precautionary and supplemental information. Paste only that section into Smart Paste. CLPeasy extracts the information it can identify; review the result against your SDS before continuing.
My supplier isn't in the library — can I still use CLPeasy?
Copy Section 2.2 (Label elements) from your current supplier SDS into Smart Paste. CLPeasy extracts the available hazard information for you to review against the source document. Supplier formats vary, and the SDS must be applicable to your product, concentration and target market.
What size labels does CLPeasy generate?
CLPeasy supports three shapes — circle, square and rectangle. Choose your shape, then enter the exact width and height you need in millimetres, from wax melt clamshells and small tins up to large jar candles. CLPeasy currently enforces a 52mm minimum for standalone labels as a product safeguard. This is a CLPeasy minimum, not a universal GB CLP legal label-size rule; the space needed depends on the required information and applicable rules.
How do I use my label in Cricut Design Space?
Download your label as an SVG file from CLPeasy. In Cricut Design Space, click Upload → Upload Image → select your SVG file. Resize it to your exact label dimensions (e.g. 50mm × 50mm). Use the Print Then Cut feature for best results — Cricut will print your label and then cut it to shape automatically.
Does CLPeasy work on mobile?
Yes — CLPeasy is fully mobile friendly and works on iPhone and Android. You can build, preview and download labels directly from your phone. PNG files save to your camera roll and SVG files save to your files app.
What is EUH208 and do I need it on my label?
EUH208 is a supplementary hazard statement that means "Contains [substance name] — may produce an allergic reaction." You need it on your label if your fragrance contains a CLP/REACH classified skin sensitiser above the threshold concentration (0.01% for category 1A, 0.1% for category 1B). Your SDS Section 2.2 will tell you exactly which sensitisers are present and whether EUH208 applies. CLPeasy has a built-in library of all 28 common CLP fragrance sensitisers to help you.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes — cancel anytime with no questions asked. You keep paid access until the end of your current billing period. Labels saved in your browser remain there unless its site data is cleared.
