Print at home and cut by hand
You don't need a cutting machine to prepare a small batch of labels.
- Review your label in CLPeasy and use Print Sheet Composer to arrange the labels you need. If you would find an outline helpful, use its optional cut border.
- Use label material suitable for your printer. Check the material supplier's instructions before printing, particularly for laser printers.
- Print a paper test first. Choose Actual Size or 100% scaling rather than Fit to Page. Check that the paper size in the print settings matches your sheet.
- Measure a test label with a ruler. For example, a label designed as a 63 mm circle should measure 63 mm across after printing.
- Check the complete print for clipped content, blurred text or missing symbols before using your adhesive material.
- Cut carefully around the label outline. Scissors suit small batches; straight edges can be cut with a suitable trimmer. Keep every part of the label content intact.
- Check the finished result on your packaging. Your chosen adhesive and print need to remain suitable for the product's normal handling conditions.
If the print is the wrong size, correct the print settings and test again. Avoid shrinking the artwork to squeeze more labels onto a sheet.
