Common questions
What is a CLP label and do I legally need one?
Yes — if you sell candles or wax melts in the UK or EU you are legally required to include a CLP label under the Classification, Labelling and Packaging regulation. It must show hazard pictograms, signal word, H and P statements, allergen declarations and your details as the responsible person. Trading Standards can issue fines for non-compliance.
Will my labels be legally compliant?
CLPeasy generates labels based on the SDS data you enter from your fragrance supplier. You must always verify the information against your own SDS sheet at your actual fragrance load before printing and selling. CLPeasy provides the tool — you are responsible for verifying the final label content is accurate for your specific product.
What is an SDS sheet and where do I find mine?
An SDS (Safety Data Sheet) is a document provided by your fragrance supplier that contains all the hazard information for their fragrance oil. You should find it on your supplier's website — usually in a dedicated SDS or safety section. Section 2.2 (Label elements) is the part CLPeasy reads. You can paste the complete SDS document into Smart Paste and CLPeasy will find Section 2.2 automatically — you don't need to locate it yourself. If you can't find your SDS, contact your supplier directly and ask for the SDS at 10% fragrance load.
How does Smart Paste work?
Open your fragrance supplier's SDS PDF and copy all the text — you don't need to find Section 2.2 yourself. Paste the complete document into the Smart Paste box in CLPeasy. The tool automatically locates Section 2.2, reads only the hazard classification data from it, and fills in the H statements, P statements, signal word, pictograms and allergens for you. Your label is always built from your own current SDS — not from a stored database that may not reflect the latest update to your fragrance. Always review what has been extracted before downloading your label.
My supplier isn't in the library — can I still use CLPeasy?
Yes — CLPeasy works with any fragrance supplier, anywhere in the world. Paste your complete SDS document into Smart Paste and CLPeasy extracts all hazard data automatically. You can also enter everything manually using the H statement and P statement libraries. Because CLPeasy reads your own SDS directly rather than looking data up from a stored list, there's no limit on supplier coverage and your data is always current.
What size labels does CLPeasy generate?
CLPeasy includes four standard preset sizes — 35mm circle (wax melt), 40mm circle (small candle or tin), 50mm circle (standard candle jar) and 63mm circle (large jar candle). These cover the vast majority of candle and wax melt products. If none of these fit your product, you can set a fully custom width and height in millimetres. CLPeasy also supports three shapes — circle, square and rectangle — so whatever label you need, you can create it.
How do I use my label in Cricut Design Space?
Download your label as an SVG file from CLPeasy. In Cricut Design Space, click Upload → Upload Image → select your SVG file. Resize it to your exact label dimensions (e.g. 50mm × 50mm). Use the Print Then Cut feature for best results — Cricut will print your label and then cut it to shape automatically.
Does CLPeasy work on mobile?
Yes — CLPeasy is fully mobile friendly and works on iPhone and Android. You can build, preview and download labels directly from your phone. PNG files save to your camera roll and SVG files save to your files app.
What is EUH208 and do I need it on my label?
EUH208 is a supplementary hazard statement that means "Contains [substance name] — may produce an allergic reaction." You need it on your label if your fragrance contains a CLP/REACH classified skin sensitiser above the threshold concentration (0.01% for category 1A, 0.1% for category 1B). Your SDS Section 2.2 will tell you exactly which sensitisers are present and whether EUH208 applies. CLPeasy has a built-in library of all 28 common CLP fragrance sensitisers to help you.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

What's the difference between Easy Trial, Easy Start and Easy Pro?
Easy Trial is free for 14 days with access to every feature and up to 10 watermarked downloads — no card needed. After the trial, Easy Start (£9.99/mo or £99/year) gives you 20 downloads/month, no watermark, the full label builder, supplier SDS guide, A4 print sheets and Cricut export. Are there any download limits?
The Easy Trial includes up to 10 watermarked label downloads so you can test the full workflow. Easy Start gives you 20 downloads/month and Easy Pro gives you 30 downloads/month — shown as a progress bar in the builder so you always know where you stand. If you need more in any month, top-up packs are available: 5 extra downloads for £3.99 or 10 for £7.99. Credits never expire and stack on top of your monthly allowance.
